Connecting Open Education to User-Centered Design Courses at Kingsborough
When I started the Open Pedagogy Fellowship, I thought I was reasonably prepared with materials in my classes already. Most of my materials were built around project based learning and I have my syllabi up on the commons. Especially with the more technology heavy classes, I’m used to ebbing and flowing with the learners speeding up or slowing down and looking to give extra assignments to more advanced students. Reflection on Feedback
The feedback I received at the last meeting led me to explore CUNY’s Manifold Platform to publish my third open assignment: a Six-Word Memoir Project. I expanded the project and plan to continue to develop it over the summer months to incorporate texts, fictional works, and supplementary resources. A variety of creative and informational resources will be used to communicate knowledge on the subject matter. Each will provide context, content, related artifacts, and links to other materials. The project will utilize social annotation activities and reading groups to develop critical reading skills and a sense of community.
