From all of the great discussions we have had in this group stemming from the amazing articles found to our own experiences, I find that my ultimate goal is to develop and cultivate an assignment bank. I realize that within the Commons, we will be adding assignments to the greater good and have so many at our finger tips to work off of, but as far as my own set of courses, I want ones that maneuver and flow through them all.

The three that I have created, which I look forward to trying out, I realize can be used in more than one of my classes. Originally I was focusing on one specific survey course that is a bit more general, but then it dawned on me that these can be used across my discipline. Maybe I would have discovered this at one point, but with the attention that I am putting on what we have learned and what I have taken away from my OPF colleagues AND students, this revelation is helping me move forward.

Creating variations of an assignment and tailoring it to a specific course is not as challenging as I first thought. The last assignment that I am proposing for OPF is one that I have been sitting on for awhile. I had used it once before but the specifics of it were not up to par for the students. Trying to leave in open created some confusion but I am now proposing a way where that essence of “openness” can exist, but with some firmer boundaries and a rubric in place.
